Committees

There are many different opportunities for NEJC Chamber members to get involved with programs and events. These decision-making positions work with Chamber staff to help increase participation and pass information along to members. Through networking and educational programming, volunteers and committee members will meet and develop special events with Chamber members while growing their network of peers.

 

Annual Dinner Committee

The Annual Dinner is the Chamber’s signature event each year. The committee works on securing sponsorships and auction item donations. Other duties of this committee may include speech writing, communication with members to nominate individuals and businesses for annual awards and decorating. The Annual Dinner Committee will meet from March 2011 through November 2011. The Annual Dinner is held in November of each month and is a Chamber highlight.

 

Golf Classic Committee

The Golf Classic Committee plans the Chamber’s Annual Golf Classic that is held each year in June. Committee members will secure sponsorships and teams, solicit prizes and volunteer at the event. This committee meets from December 2010 to June 2011. At the Golf Classic Chamber members are guests are treated to a day of networking, golf, lunch and an awards ceremony.

 

Legislative Affairs Committee

The Legislative Affairs Committee acts as a business advocate for the Northeast Johnson County area. This committee meets as needed and develops Chamber position statements, sponsors forums and other legislative projects and seeks to heighten awareness of issues that are pertinent to the area. This committee primarily meets during the legislative season from January through April, but will stay in contact throughout the year. The committee watches activity in the city, county and state legislative bodies. They pass information on to the members and may take a stand on specific issues. Leadership Northeast Steering Committee

The Leadership Northeast Steering Committee consists of Leadership Northeast Alumni. The steering committee develops the upcoming sessions for the current Leadership Northeast class. Duties involve sharing ideas about what speakers and topics should be included in the program, and helping with the scheduling of speakers and facilities.
